Cannot charge from normal charger. I've found that I can only charge my new 230 using a USB port on an actual computer. If I plug the charge cable into, say, a phone charger, the 230 doesn't go into charging mode. Is this expected, or a known problem? The 230 is running 4.7 firmware. The state of the optical HR sensor of the forerunner 235 can be controlled by switch with the options "auto" and "off". But when the foreunner 235 is attached to a power source, this switch does not work. No matter in what state this switch is, the HR sensor stays off. Is there a way to switch on the HR sensor of the forerunner 235 during charging?
It took nearly three years before my Forerunner 610's battery life was noticeably reduced. Still quite usable, just not like it was. When I talked to Garmin about battery replacement it was a $99 flat fee to exchange for a refurbished 610 with new battery. I ended up using it for another few months before buying a newer fancier watch.
Read this before you give up! My wife and I went for a six-mile walk with a friend last Saturday. I was wearing my Forerunner 235, which I had connected to a charging cable on Friday evening. It died at 1.40 miles into the walk. I suspected that I had not connected it well for charging. So, I took extra care to reconnect it to the charging Just got back from a week of vacation and my 235 won't charge at all. Won't connect to the PC or wall charger won't work either. I'm assuming a bad cable, but seeing as how it hasn't moved since I charged it before I left, I'm not sure why that would be the case. Any options to try? Or am I stuck buying s new cable? My Forerunner 230 turned off tonight and will not come back. It is new and has only been charged twice. It had at least 70% charge today. I have had it plugged in but it will not come back on.
I shut down. But now I cannot start it. I keep pressing the light/power button for minutes but nothing happens. I connected my charge cable to the watch and to my computer. But the computer doesn't register any Garmin devise in any USB port. Also the watch doesn't seem to recharge. Its like its completely out of order.
I just bought my new Garmin 235 Forerunner, I have tried charging on the laptop USB and get a warning that the USB port does not provide enough power to charge. I have then tried using a previous wall charger for Garmin, as well as plugging into my Iphone charger, and so far to no avail.
